Making it you
To make a truly one of a kind wedding you need to add in some personal elements. One way is to create a gallery of photos in your entrance way containing framed images from your relationship. You could also leave little stories around the reception room or hang your childhood photos on the respective bathroom doors or play a silent slideshow of images during dinner.
Thinking of you
In terms of your guests leaving thinking your day has been one of a kind you will need to add a few touches like slipping a tissue into each order of service for those teary guests. Or indulging them in some light reading as you share a sentance about each member of the bridal party or why the song choices are meaningful to you.
Those little moments where you reach out and do something extra will make your guests feel warm with love. Perhaps when reserving seats for the ceremony you could write a little note the other side of the name card to let those people know what it means for them to be there on your special day. If your having an outdoor wedding you could leave a basket of supplies in the bathroom such as sunscreen, mozzie spray and maybe a comb for your guests.
Break the mold
Think about how you could mix up your wedding day so it isn't so traditional, this for you may be walking down the aisle together at the ceremony or doing your first dance straight after your entrance to the reception. Perhaps your'd like to cut the cake and serve with tea and coffee after the ceremony before the recpetion kicks in or for a summer wedding refresh guests with yummy iceblocks possibly spiked with your favourite liquor.
Many couples forget to take time for themselves on their wedding day so having a few things preplanned forces us to stop and enjoy it. A first look before the ceremony is a great way to spend a moment in private and really capture that wondeful feeling when you first see each other. A way to help you remember this in your marriage you could do the ever popular time capsule. Each write a letter to each other and place with a bottle of champagne in a box to open on an anniversary.
Throw in some fun
You know what they say, people will forget what you said, they will forget what you do but they will never forget how you made them feel. Injecting some fun and laughter is the best thing you can do for an unforgettable experience. Transport your guests from ceremony to recpetion if in two different locations in something like a double decker London bus. Or if your ceremony and reception are on the same site (my favourite idea ever!!!) ...have a musican play the pied piper and lead the guests from the ceremony to the reception, hopefully everyone will break out in song! You can always end the night with a bang doing a fireworks show...cos who doesn't like fireworks?
